Get a wireless Apple keyboard or not?

Although in my personal wish-list for 2009, I stated that I would like to have a Wireless Apple keyboard, I finally decided to get a wired Apple keyboard – I will have it by the end of March.

The main reason for my decision is that I do not want more wireless activity around me...

F4 or F12 for Dashboard

When Dashboard came out, the recommended keyboard shortcut for it was the F12 key.

Both the new Aluminum Apple keyboards recommend the F4 key, although you can change this behavior from System Preferences.

What keyboard shortcut are you using?

My eBook describes how you can create Apple Dashboard Widgets using many programming languages including JavaScript, Perl, Objective-C, and PHP.
You can buy it here.

I installed Safari 4 beta.

Although I do not like using beta software, I already installed Safari 4 beta on both my machines.

I also had to execute the following from Terminal.app (to get back the previous Safari tab behavior):

  • defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4TabBarIsOnTop -bool NO
as well as the following (to get the loading progress indication in the weblink bar):

  • defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4IncludeToolbarRedesign -bool NO
  • defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4LoadProgressStyle -bool NO

Does the above image remind you of Opera Speed Dial?

What is your opinion about Safari 4 beta?
What is your opinion about using beta software?

Apple releases (public beta) Safari 4

You can find it here (for both Windows and Mac).

Troubleshooting OS X start-ups

The latest Macworld has a very nice article about "Troubleshooting OS X start-ups".
Read it if you have problems.

Drobo can fail too!!

If you think that Drobo cannot fail, think again! Read Terry's story.

I do not have Drobo but I will definitely love to have one.

Apple QuickTime 100 camera

Apple QuickTime 100 was the first digital camera that worked with a home computer (via a serial cable). The camera was launched at the Tokyo MacWorld Expo on 17 February 1994.
