After getting the Cisco 877w from ebay.co.uk I had to set it up.
The process was not as painless as I expected. As it is second-hand, in order to use it, I had to change its IP address and connect it to my iMac.
Its previous setup did not allow me to reset its IP address to the default (10.10.10.1) even after using the Reset button so I had to do the following:

- connect it to a PC using the (light blue) Cisco console cable (RJ45 to DB9)
- get console access using HyperTerminal
- delete its configuration
- change the IP address
- connect using an ethernet cable
- set up the ADSL connection and the WiFi access
